I'm sorry. I missed Earth Day. But I saw this and had to post it. I got it off the NASA site. You all know I am a recycling freak. I save all my recycleables at work and they pile up in a big bag. Paper, plastic or styrofoam cups, plastic bags, etc. And then at the end of the week I walk home down the street with my big old bulging bag of trash to put in my recycle garbage can at home. I am sorta embarassed carrying that garbage down the street, but I can think of worse things. One time I saw a guy carrying this huge entertainment center down the street. It was so huge, I don't know how he did it by himself. Now THAT would have been embarassing. You know everyone was thinking he stole it. Anyway, I love recycling and I love talking trash, so this graphic is totally my style.

In my old neighborhood. There was this woman that would go out every trash & recycle day. She would get on her bike with this big ole basket, and she had trash bags hooked up to it everywhere. You could tell she put a lot of thought into it. Well, I guess this was what she considered her career or something. She went through the entire neighborhood digging through everyone’s trash! Now I could see if she was just really committed to being green. That would have been really cool!!! I would have admired her for that, but she was just collecting cans to sell! I would be walking my kids to school, and there she was every time without fail. I felt so bad. My kids would stare at her like she was insane. One time Alex even asked “Mama why is that lady digging through our garbage?” “Is she a hobo?” And, everyone knows children are anything but discrete! NOW that’s EMBARRASSING!!!!!!!!
